Rainy Days + Tessa = Fun

Tessa LOVES the rain! Here are some fun pictures of her outside in the rain. She also was very serious about saying the worms from their almost certain death on our driveway! :)

Tessa & the Compost Bin

Tessa and Brandon had lots of fun putting together and playing with the compost bin! :) Check out the pictures below!

Snow Day 1-3

Wow! While I did enjoy the first snow day, I was going stir-crazy on Snow Day #2. Now that tomorrow will mark #4, I am not sure I will survive this boredom! :)

Tessa and I have been having fun. We have done her "homework", which consists of studying the letter Z, which she was going to focus on this week at school. We had done crafts, practiced writing it, saying it, and saying words that begin with a Z. She AMAZES me at the things she picks up. She is beginning to notice letters everywhere, and now that she is grasping sounds, she is pointing them out in conversations. I am so proud of her!

We have also played in the snow, rolled in the snow, ate the snow (not the yellow snow), made snow angels, made a HUGE snowman (Thanks to Daddy). I'll try to get some pictures up! We have also had lots of hot chocolate, watched Little Rascals, and played with many of her new Christmas toys and games!

She has made so many gains over the past 4 months with us, and we can only continue to THANK GOD for His mighty hand on her life!

Her new thing is forgiveness. So, this morning, she told me she forgave me when I bobbled her cup a bit before putting it down on the table. She also asks for forgiveness, and she seems to understand each day, more and more, God's love for her. She likes to tell God that she loves Him the most.

Christmas in Indiana

Merry Christmas Eve!

We are SO enjoying time with our families, and we have only been here for a little over 24 hours! How nice it is to get away and enjoy Indiana's winter!

Tessa is LOVING the snow. She has built a snowman, and gone sledding in the past 24 hours. She just loves it! It is so sweet to see her joy and delight. It is great to see her just being a 4, almost 5, year old. She loves her grandparents, and I think they melt when she says, " grandma or grandpa".

Our little baby is 18 weeks old now, and my bump is growing. I'll post a new picture soon! This will be the first grandchild on both sides of the family, so, as you can guess, everyone is VERY excited!

Hopefully I'll keep up with this more now that I am taking a break and time off from Facebook. But, for now, may God bless you this Christmas and throughout the New Year!

Almost There....

Well, it’s been a long time since I blogged, so I guess I better catch you all up on our life since Mid-June. I, Lindsay, have been studying the book of Ruth all summer with 4 awesome girls. I am so sad to see them go off to college, but at the same time, excited to see how the Lord will use them to touch the lives of those around them at Clemson, USC, and Furman. Love you girls! Here is a picture of us together~

Brandon is going to be beginning his PMBA this fall through the University of South Carolina. He will do most of his classes here in Greenville, but then go once a month to USC to take a class. He wills till be working, along with taking some night classes.

In Mid-July, we took a week long trip back to Indiana to see our families. It was such a joy to spend time with them. We got to go to our famous Elkhart County Fair, and see many friends. I ran my first 5K and successfully finished without stopping to walk. Surprisingly, my cousin Nicole and I pulled off a double surprise 30th anniversary party for our parents with the help of our brothers and the Bontragers! It was so fun to see them surprised and honored! Way to go, parents! We also got some family pictures taken! They are great, thanks to Leslie Hershberger! We also got to sit around my parent's fire pit! It is so nice!

When we got back to Greenville, I ran another 5k with my friend, Becky. Here is a picture of me finishing and us after that race!

We are almost done with the foster care process. We will have our home study on Wednesday, and be licensed, hopefully, next week, if all goes as planned. Pray for us….some situations have arisen regarding who we might take and we need lots of prayer. I can’t disclose any information, but please just pray for wisdom and discernment. We can’t wait to be parents to some sweet children.

I am back to school. Today was my first day. I love my new students, and I am so excited to work with them this year. It’s going to be a great year at Lake Forest Elementary. Here are a few pictures of my classroom, minus the children!

Rockin' in the book of Ruth!

I'll add more thoughts soon, but the book of Ruth is opening my eyes to see how much the Lord delights in our obedience and trust! I love how he, "intently carves our paths, authors each stroke, and weaves our courses into others' lives." ~ Kelly Minter

I am just in awe of how God's hand is at work, perfecting us all the way, and bringing glory to HIS name. Blessed be the name of the Lord

If you haven't stopped to really look at the words in the short book of Ruth, go back and study them, a few verses at a time. There are some deep and wonderful truths buried in the soil of this book. Wow! Ruth inspires me to work hard for the Lord, and to persevere through the hard times, because "at just the right time" God will show himself and work all things for good! ~ Romans 5:6-8

I am truly blessed to be leading a study with these amazing women, who are devoted to coming, memorizing the word, and sharing their HEARTS! Wow! The Lord is teaching me so much!

Praise be to the Lord for His enduring promises and truth!
